This time i, Alfanio will tell you about kyokushin recent news, it's all hot news!!

It’s been so long since the last i post :P

First is about KWF President Shihan Loek Hollader 9 dan ( such a belt )

On January 20, during the KWF world cup in japan 2013 Shihan Loek Hollander was awarded with the 9th dan certificate. Shihan Hollander has been studying Kyokushin Karate under the Master Sosai Masutatsu Oyama and later on spread his teachings in Europe, where he has been active for over 40 years now,.

        Among others, who were awarded during the ceremony were; Shihan Antonio Pinero for 8th dan, Shian Andre Drewniak also 8th dan, Shihan Bertrand Kron for 6th dan, and many more.... *i still stuck at 4 kyu lol :P

And the 1st Kwf World Cup Karate

The 1st KWF World Cup Karate Grandprix in Japan 2013 was organised on Jan 20, 2013 in Chiba Port Arena. Approximately 650 participants from 17 countries, such as: Japan, Holland, Spain, Poland, Norway, France, Switzerland, Russia, Ukraine, Estonia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazahstan, Pakistan, Korea, Turkey, Argentina and other, took part in this event.
   Organiser of this historical event was Kyokushin World Federation, lead by the President Shihan Loek Hollander. Tournament was directed by the KWF Representative in Japan Shihan Noriyuki Tanaka.
   All members of KWF Board:  President Shihan Loek Hollander (from Holland), Chairman Shihan Antonio Pinero (from Spain), General Secretary Shihan Andre Drewniak (from Poland), Treasurer  Shihan Lars Hogquist (from Norway), Member of the Board Shihan Bertrand Kron (from France), came to support this event in Japan.
   The opening speech was done by Mr. Yu Kuroda - former member of the House of Representatives in Japan.
   Special guest was the Ambassador of Poland in Japan Mr. Cyryl Kozaczewski.

  **The 2nd KWF  World Cup Karate Grandprix in Japan is planned on February 2014

Karate For Entertaiment

Long time no see and just as i promise back then (last post), this post will be more exiting....

Karate For Entertaiment? As the era going, many things can be used for entertaiment. As well as Karate, maybe "Karate Kid" or "Kung Fu Panda" aren't things that few people know, but a lot of people know that movie. Well.... actualy all kind of martial arts can be base of film, not only Karate.

Do you know the first martial arts movie?? It was "The Big Boss" this film is made from Hong Kong. This film use old Chinese Kung Fu. And i'm going to share about this one special film about Martial arts ."IP Man" this film is verry interesting film balanced with great story too. It was no ordinary film!

This film made at 2010 in Hong Kong, a  martial arts film based on the really real life  Wing Chun masterYip Man. One of  the hightlights of the film is a special apperance by Ip Chun, son of Yip Man, who plays Leung Bik in the film. The film focuses on Yip Man's early life and the story of how he learend the martial arts style of Wing Chun. In contrast , Ip Man and Ip Man 2 focus on the events in his life that took place during the second Sino-Japanese War and after he moved to Hong Kong

As a child, Ip Man learns Wing Chun from Chan Wah-shun together with Ip Tin-chi (Ip Man's adopted brother) and Lee Mei-wai. After Chan's death from an illness, Ip Man continues to learn Wing Chun from his senior, Ng Chung-sok, before eventually leaving Foshan to study in Hong Kong.

In Hong Kong, after a field hockey match, Ip Man and his schoolmates are racially insulted by a Westerner. Ip Man takes offense to the language. The Westerner then slurs them in Chinese. Ip Man challenges the Westerner to a fight and defeats him. Ip Man's notoriety and popularity soar after the incident. While getting medicine to treat the Westerner whom he now refers to as a friend, he meets master Leung Bik, who is actually the son of Leung Jan, Chan Wah-shun's teacher. Ip Man learns a different, improved style of Wing Chun from Leung and his prowess in martial arts improves tremendously. Meanwhile in Foshan, Ip Tin-chi rose to become a prominent businessman under another Wing Chun martial arts association.

Ip Man returns to Foshan years later and reunites with his peers. Ng Chung-sok sees that Ip Man has mastered a new style of Wing Chun from Leung Bik, which differs from Chan Wah-shun's orthodox style. Ip Man also later falls in love with Cheung Wing-shing, the daughter of the vice-mayor of Foshan. When Lee Mei-wai realises that Ip Man loves Cheung, she accepts Ip Tin-chi's love for her. On their wedding night, her godfather is murdered and Ip Man is arrested as a prime suspect after being witnessed struggling with him. Cheung later lied that Ip Man was with her the entire evening to have him released from jail. Lee discovers a letter to Ip Tin-chi, revealing his involvement in the murder of her godfather. She was saved by Ip Tin-chi when she attempted suicide and both of them leave for Foshan but are stopped by the Japanese. Lee is captured and Ip Tin-chi is forced to kill Ng Chung-sok because Lee showed the letter to him.

At the martial arts association, Ng Chung-sok was defeated by Ip Tin-chi and the Japanese. Ip Man arrives in time to save Ng Chung-sok from being killed and then subsequently defeats the Japanese and Ip Tin-chi. Ip Tin-chi then reveals that he is actually a Japanese and was sent to China to infiltrate and work as an undercover agent. He then performs seppuku to end his life. Ip Man rushes off to the pier to rescue Lee. He defeats the Japanese and rescues Lee. At the pier, they discover that the Japanese have been smuggling Japanese children to China, possibly as future undercover agents, similar to Ip Tin-chi.

Well maybe its a bit off from our topic "karate" but i think it will be sad if you miss this information i give to you..

WKF (World Karate Federation)

      Hereeee i'm againnn, This time yeah exactly this time, i will share some information about WKF !!

        What is WKF? WKF is World Karate Federation which is exist to rule all the Karate branch in the world! WKF job is to maintance all the karate big event, this is just like FIFA in Soccer.The World Karate Federation, or WKF, was formed in 1990 from former WUKO (World Union of Karate-Do Organizations) members .There are more than 130 member countries which is include in WKF.

         It is the only karate organization recognised by the International Olympic Committee and has more than ten million members.The WKF organizes the Junior and Senior Karate World Championships, which are each held every 2 year. The President of the WKF is Antonio Espinos, and the headquarters are located in Madrid, Spain.

The styles recognised by the WKF are Shotokan, Wado-ryu, Goju-ryu and Shito-ryu.(The Big 5 Karate Branch)

        Such as Karate World Championships, also known as the World Karate Championships. This event is the biggest and highest level event for Karateka! The competition is held in a different Country every two years. This event include all country in the world!! So the winner can be declared as Number 1 Kareteka!

KARATE RANK (BELT)

Hellooooo at least, i'm start to posting again. This time i'm going to tell you about karate rank (belt). Well, actualy each Karate branch have their own rank system, but in every karate branch, they started in white (kyu 10th) until black belt (dan10th). For example our dojo in Hwa Ind (Kyokushinkai ) it's used to be like this:

Kyu 10th   : White

Kyu 9th   : Blue

Kyu 8th   : Blue with white stripe

Kyu 7th   : Yellow

Kyu 6th   : Yellow with white stripe 

Kyu 5th   : Green

Kyu 4th   : Green with white stripe

Kyu 3rd   : Brown

Kyu 2nd  : Brown with white stripe

Kyu 1st   : Bronw with black stripe

Dan 1st   : Black with one white stripe until

Dan 10th : Black with ten white stripe (highest rank)

The only way to get the new belt is with passing the test from the examiner. If you good enough like me :P you can get 2 or even more belt in one test. The test itself is very strich! We really need to concentrate to the examiner or else we can't pass the test. The test is being held every 6 month (most), but there are requiremnts to do, like good behavior, never use drugs and many more. If you got passed the test, you will get new belt, and a certificate too. And do you know to get Dan 3 or more, you must join the test in Japan itself.
